We reexcavated the 2 essential build up that produced the eldest rodent bone dates in brand new Zealand (20, 21): Predator Cave and Earthquakes no. 1 (Fig. 2; SI book and Figs. S1a€“S6). Seventeen brand new rat limbs recovered from the exact same and extra stratigraphic models as initially excavated happened to be dated (Fig. 1; SI book and Table S1) to check the reproducibility in the earliest variety of rat bone schedules (20, 21).
